OUR STORY

We are a family owned banana plantation located in Vinces, Ecuador.

Established in 1825, Cordones (meaning “laces”) plantation has been owned by the Aspiazu family for more than 5 generations.

Originally a cacao and cattle farm, the family moved to growing exclusively bananas in the early 1970s to meet the growing need for this new “exotic” fruit from North American and European markets.

Spanning 100 acres, Cordones is home to 60,000 banana trees producing over 14 million bananas each year - which are exported all across the globe!
